Something strange is happening in the small college town of Eldridge Island, Maine. While investigating a murder, Detective Richard McKeller (Jeff Stevens) stumbles onto something so deadly its very existence is a threat to all mankind.
Thinking a new and deadly virus had been discovered, McKeller and the local medical examiner, Dr. Hammond (Ellis Moore), summon a research team -- consisting of Dr. Harlow from the Centers for Disease Control (Chuck Conaway), neurological expert Dr. Kern (Robert Westwood), and medical intern Bill Grant (Glenn Meek) -- only to discover that they are facing an enemy even more terrifying.
With the assistance of university student Paula Davis (Sharon McMahon), the team soon finds themselves embroiled in an adventure that only a few will survive.
